Kübra Kürkçü - Matthew

from Reflections of The Infinity Chamber by Various Artists

about

Kübra Kürkçü is a Turkish singer and guitarist hailing from the Eastern city of Rize, currently studying International Relations in Istanbul.

I wrote Matthew in Bulgaria.
It's a song a lot of people identify with.
Though most have never done what Matthew does.
The urge lies in many of us.

lyrics

Matthew messed up everything he had
So he moved into a shed beside the sea,
Living with the birds up above his head
Running like the wind so free

Singing la la la la la la la la
Oooh, la la la la la…

Matthew caught a fish in the morning sun
And he cooked it in a ring of stones
Working in the night by a lit lantern
Writing in a book of poems

Singing la la la la la la la la
Oooh, la la la la la…

(instrumental)

Matthew watched the moon rise bleeding red
And he flew into the starry sky
Leaping through the waves made his way to bed
Saying boy I hope I never die!
