Dreams and memories were interweaving
into a living poem of flesh.

Living in a small upstairs Attic in Germany
I had a dream.
Disturbing, and unsettlingly vivid.

For some time after
A lingering sense of dread,
and I kept asking myself
"That didn't really happen did it?"

I wrote the song about the urge to end innocence,
and to meet in a far darker, more real place.

Julia's Song first appeared on the album Dark Wind Songs (2004)

lyrics

Julia, dancing in a dream of spring
Such a pretty naive thing
Sweet as the embryo's wing...

Truly I was in the days of rain
I was in the days of Cain
I was in a daze...

Julia, skipping down an arbour lane
Ever so removed from pain
Wonders if she'll change her name...

Only I was in the sunken land
Darkened to the depths of man
Fire reigning in my hand...

Julia, sleeping in the silent trees
Mud upon her little knees
Cooling in the evening breeze.
